YourGuide is a travel experience app that connects travellers with trusted local guides. Instead of generic tours, it helps people find a real person who can show them a place the way a local would.

The Problem

What wasn't working

Travellers want authentic local experiences but rarely know who to trust in an unfamiliar place, and booking a guide is usually clunky and impersonal.

Goals

  • Help travellers find and trust the right local guide quickly.
  • Make booking a guide feel as simple as booking a table.
  • Give guides a profile that shows who they really are.

  • Looked at how people currently find guides and local experiences.
  • Studied what makes a traveller trust a guide sight unseen.
Challenges

  • Building trust between two strangers before any money changes hands.
  • Designing browse and booking for people on the move, often on patchy connections.
